Mark Arnett on Filmmakers Panel
Saturday, April 4, 2009
It’s is always a pleasure to talk about my film. So when the Phoenix Film Festival invited me to sit on a panel of filmmakers to answer questions on what goes into making a movie, I jumped at the chance. Talking is my second favorite thing to do.
The theme of the discussion seemed to be the importance of just doing it. You can talk about it, read about it, or even go to film school to study it, but there is no substitute for actually making a film. That seemed to be the consensus of the filmmakers.
Personally, the things I thought would be hard about making a film turned out to be easy, but the things I didn’t even think about, turned out to be the hardest. That’s the way most things go in life. Things look different until you experience them.
